Luggage & Packing Blueprint
How to pack for cold German winter climates while adhering to 20kg limits.

In late November and December, Germany experiences temperatures ranging from 6°C down to -2°C, with frequent rain or snow. Chennai students are not accustomed to this cold. Proper layering is not just a comfort requirement; it is a student health priority.
📝 Task checklist
3x Thermal Innerwear setsCritical
Polyester-wool blend. Wear under normal clothing daily.
Heavy Winter Jacket/Parka (Waterproof)Critical
Must have a hood. Down jacket or heavy fleece-lined coat.
Comfortable Walking Shoes (Water-Resistant)
We will walk 10,000 to 15,000 steps daily. Sneaker mesh gets soaked in rain; leather/synthetic boots are best.
Warm Accessories Set
2x Woolen beanies (covering ears), 2x thick scarves, 2x pairs of gloves (waterproof/windproof).
5x pairs of Thick Woolen Socks
Standard cotton socks are useless once they catch moisture.
European Type-C or Type-F Plug AdapterCritical
Indian plugs do not fit German sockets. Bring a universal adapter.
Powerbank (10,000mAh or 20,000mAh)
Cold weather drains phone batteries 2x faster. Keep powerbanks inside cabin luggage.

💡 Pro-Tip: Roll, Don't Fold
Winter apparel is extremely bulky. Roll thermal sets and tuck socks inside your walking shoes to maximize space. Limit denim jeans to 3 pairs, as they dry very slowly and add a lot of weight.
